Erika and Laurell founded Urban Grower's Collective, their black and woman owned non-profit, to build a more just and equitable food system growing food in Chicago's South Side. Beyond that, they promote economic development, healing, and creativity, and create safe and nourishing spaces for community members through urban agriculture on eleven acres of land.  Now they’re opening a 30 Million dollar experimental farm geared towards helping low income and BIPOC urban communities achieve food sovereignty.
